Media5-fone

The top voice quality Media5-fone is a VoIP Softphone that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch as an extension of your Enterprise SIP IP-PBX or your preferred SIP provider.

You can hence use your iPhone or iPod Touch to make and receive free or inexpensive phone calls over the internet from any where a Wi-Fi connection is available and get in touch with your office, friends and family while travelling around the world.

The Media5-fone achieves the Universal SIP Interoperability and Quality based on the award winning M5T SCE (SIP Client Engine) Mobility SDK provided, integrated and used around the world. (The same expertise used within carrier grade Certified Mediatrix Gateways and other mobile devices)

Media5-fone intuitive user-interface is easy to setup and can be interconnected in a snap with all major SIP PBX providers; being open source (such as Asterisk) or closed source.

KNOWN ISSUES:
• On iPhone OS 3.0, the items of the "more" section are not translated when the device is using a language other than english. Upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2 to get the translations.
• When using the "SIP INFO" option for the "DTMF Method" setting with a server that does not support it, the "hold" feature may hang up the call. Switching to the "RFC 2833" value should help in temporarily solving this issue.

NOTES:
• Media5 Corporation is not a telephony provider; you must previously obtain a SIP account from your SIP IP-PBX IT responsible or from you SIP telephony provider. Media5-fone IS OPENED (UNLOCKED) AND THEREFORE NOT ATTACHED TO ANY SIP TELEPHONY PROVIDER.
• 3G connection not authorised by Apple; SIP registration through Wi-Fi network connection only.
• Second generation iPod touch supported; user must use an external MIC (see Apple store).
