Mac OS Utilities
NewDoc is little app which, after starting, creates a new menulet (Popup menu).
It works similar to the NewFile functionality in Windows.
THIS VERSION NEEDS MONTAIN LION (OS X 10.8).
IT DOES NOT WORK WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS
When clicking on the icon a menu is shown which contains the files which can be created (NewDoc list).
For example (after first start):
New text file
New rtf file
After clicking on one of the menu entries the selected file is created in the actual directory of the first finder window.
This means you have to enter the directory in which you want to create a new file first and then select the file type from the NewDoc menulet popup menu.
For example, if you are in finder in your user directory and select the file 'New text file' a new text file is created in your user directory.
In reality it's not new created but copied from a template directory.
The templates are saved in: '~/Library/Application Support/NewDoc'.
Just add new templates if you need them (for example an empty Word or Pages document or the template for a letter).
If you have any questions, suggestions for improvement or you want to complain.
