ReaderNotify is a lightweight alternative to bloated RSS readers with perfect OS X integration.

ReaderNotify checks your Google Reader account in a customizable time interval and shows notifications in the OS X (Mountain Lion or later) Notification Center for new feed items.

Just click the notification and ReaderNotify will open the original post in your web browser for you.

ReaderNotify can optionally mark all items it has sent notifications for as read in Google Reader for your convenience.

(You require a (free) Google Reader account for this app to work.)
