Time With The Lord

It's the best wake up call life has to offer.

There are over 100 minutes of Bible verses in this unique and ingenious application. They have been selected to fortify your morning and to provide a little sanctuary before the hurly-burly of the day begins.

Every morning you wake to a different Bible verse welcoming the day ("Awake my soul! Awake harp and lyre: I will awaken the dawn! Psalm 57"). These shorter verses - around 100 in total, often with a morning theme - are followed by a series of beeps. That's just in case you need cajoling out of sleep. When you turn off the beeps you will hear a longer Bible meditation from the most beautiful and thought-provoking parts of the Bible.

The voice belongs to distinguished actor Philip Madoc. His is a marvellously textured voice, produced by a rare intelligence and a deep feeling for the language in the world's most important book.

The verses can also be played on command, at any time of day or night. The Lord's Prayer; The 23rd Psalm; The Magnificat; The Nunc Dimittis; The Beatitudes: The most beautiful and compelling ideas, thoughts and feelings - there for you every morning as your start to the day.

Alarm Clock:
The main screen presents a beautifully drawn realistic view of a traditional analogue clock. There are just two buttons on the main screen, ‘Play last’ and ‘Settings’. Press the ‘Play last’ button to repeat that morning’s inspirational tract. Pressing the ‘Settings button’ allows you to set the alarm time, change a number of preferences, or select and play any of the recordings.

The text of the bible passages are presented on the screen below the clock face. The text from the last alarm’s longer meditation is left on the screen after the alarm sounds for you to read and reflect upon.

Settings:
User changeable features include
• Alarm on/off
• Alarm time
• Display second hand (on/off)
• Second hand movement (sweep or incremental)
• Audible ticking (on/off)
• Tick volume (relative to main volume)
• Choose bible passages at random (or in sequence)
• Choose which passages to play

Snooze function:
If your soul needs a little more time to awake then use the ‘Snooze’ button which appears when the alarm is activated. After a few relevant words from Proverbs 6 the clock resets the alarm to give you an extra 10 minutes’ contemplation.

Bonus feature:
If you make the sign of the cross with your finger on the clock face the clock will play either the Lord’s Prayer or the 23rd Psalm.

Technical Note:

The BibleClock App cannot run in the background which means that the alarm will not sound if another program is running. Just make sure the program is running before you go to bed, press the sleep button (at the top of your iPhone), and the BibleClock will wake you up. The BibleClock will not interfere with any incoming calls, reminders or other notifications.
