The Silver Goat is the first film in the world exclusively created for iPad.
Beautifully shot in black and white, it is the debut feature of award-winning filmmaker Aaron Brookner (who previously worked assisting in the productions of Coffee & Cigarettes (Jim Jarmusch), Personal Velocity (Rebecca Miller) and got his first recognition for his short The Black Cowboys, a documentary shot in NYC (winner of the Audience Award at The Rochester International Film Festival). Starring Tom Colley (BBC’s Call the Midwife), Alexa Brown (Gorgeous Labour of Love, Mirror Mirror) and Don McCorkindale (Layer Cake, Eastenders, The Enfield Poltergeist).
Shot entirely around London on locations including Notting Hill, Chelsea, Southbank, the Royal Opera House, Kings Cross area, Islington and The Almeida Theatre.
The premiere of the film in London, UK, was the first world premiere of a film for the iPad and it took place on board a London Routemaster bus from 1959 given for the occasion by the London Bus Museum visiting the locations where the film was shot. The Silver Goat is a must-see for anyone interested in independent filmmaking as it explores innovative ways to produce and distribute movies in the 21st Century. Filmed in London over 10 days in November 2010, this long feature is a collective effort, using the best of guerrilla filmmaking. A psychological romance fused with dark comedy tells the story of an actress caught between her controlling father and ambitious husband. A tale about nepotism and power struggles.
