KinderSmarts, is a fun way for your child to learn the basics of kindergarten literacy. Bugs are used to add whimsy and help in the teaching. This tutorial is highly interactive, giving your kindergartener a chance to relate to print concepts, phonological awareness and word recognition on a personal level and get instant feedback on how they are doing.

The app provides a comprehensive set of all the foundational skills from the Common Core State Standards for kindergarten. These include understanding punctuation and other basic features of print, understanding of spoken words, syllables, sounds, grade level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.

KinderSmarts is the first Bugbrained app to use Gameland to motivate the child. Throughout the exercises they earn “Bug Badges”. When they have enough, they can redeem them in Gameland to play four, fun, bug games.
