Sony Announces Official PlayStation App for iPhone in Selected European Countries

Sony, the consumer electronics giant, has announced that it will be releasing an official PlayStation app for the iPhone and Android operating systems. For the iPhone, the app will be compatible with iOS 4 and above only and offer the following features:

  • Check out your PlayStation Network trophies and keep up to date with your friends’ games and online status.
  • Discover all the latest games, news and hardware for your PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation 2.
  • Read all the announcements on the European PlayStation.Blog.
  • Share your favourite products or news with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or via e-mail.

The app will be free and in its first iteration it will only be available in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands. Sony has not indicated when the app will be available in the U.S.

    lol…. Would be nice if they tried keeping up with how good 360′s online is instead of doing this useless crap..

    Reason: I have over 100 PSN Friends, Get this… You can’t even group them, You can NOT group your friends, They are all just in 1 massive ass list, You literally need to remember EVERY “SINGLE” person on your friends list, Absalutely pathetic, I can’t belive there doing this without even giving us groups, SONY You are a bunch of halfwits, I wouldn’t touch your stupid APP until you give us Groups.
