More and more magazines are coming to the iPad and the well-known women’s fashion magazine, Elle, is one of the latest to debut in the App Store. Like other digital versions of magazines we’ve seen, such as Wired Magazine, Elle offers interactive content and special features within the app, including an Inspiration Board where users can drag clothing and accessory items to create outfits later.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Elle is offering the October 2010 U.S. issue as a free download within the app. The newsstand cost of the paper version is $3.99 so this is a great deal if you don’t already subscribe and want to check it out.

Elle already makes digital versions of its magazines available through Zinio, a digital publishing company that offers a wide variety of magazines through its universal app, where it costs $8 for a year-long 12-issue subscription. Back issues are not yet available for purchase within the Elle app, nor is there a digital subscription option within the app at this time.
