Did you ever need to know or calculate the density altitude for your current location? The density altitude is extremely important for the performance of any engine. The density altitude is the corrected altitude taking into consideration the temperature, humidity, and current altitude. The hotter it is outside, and the more humid it is outside means the air is less dense. When the air is less dense, your engine performs significantly worse than it should. With a high density altitude, your engine can lose 20% or more of its horsepower. Also with a high density altitude, the less dense air will reduce aerodynamic lift and reduce aerodynamic drag.
