WEPGen
Need to connect to a wireless network that is WEP encoded but all you have is the passphrase and your network connection client doesn't handle passphrases? You need to have an offline WEP key generator that will give you the 26 HEX digits you need. You need WEPGen!
WEPGen uses the defacto standard for generating WEP keys used by most wireless routers.
Enter the passphrase into WEPGen to generate the WEP keys for bit sizes 64 and 128. Write down the key you need and then enter it using the Settings/Wi-Fi built-in app. This works for iPhone and iPod touch. It also can be used for Windows clients. I use it all the time when people visit and want to join my network at home.
NOTE: With the new 3.0 release, you can now copy and paste the key from the display box to the wireless settings password!
This program is NOT for use as a hacking tool!
It is intended to be a utility to help connect to a network when the passphrase is already known, but the wireless setup wizard/app/program will only accept hex digits (like Win XP, etc)
What's new
Uses copy and paste so the WEP key can be entered into the wireless settings password field.
