SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• A VNC Server, such as UltraVNC or TightVNC, is required to connect to a Windows PC.
• Windows and Linux users are required to configure their router and computer manually to access their computer remotely.
• A SSH Server, such as freeSSHd, is required to create a secure connection to a Windows or Linux PC.
• Windows and Linux PCs can only send or receive text and URLs.

• Screens will not receive any sound from your computer. This is a limitation of the RFB protocol the app is using.
• Screens Connect requires OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later. You will need to create a free Screens ID.

What's new

#About this release

This version concentrates on *Stability, Speed* and *Support*. There are basically no new features. This is our [Snow Leopard](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Snow_Leopard) release before we start working Screens 4, which should be available later this year.

- New app icon. Was scheduled for version 4.0 but why wait? :)
- New “Welcome to Screens” guide to help new users setup their computer and Screens
- Help section in the app settings, which now includes the new Welcome Guide, release notes, etc.
- Screens now performs a connection test when enabling secure connections to ensure the computer is configured properly
- Scrollable toolbar (when connected) will now gently bounce so that users notice that it can scroll. The effect goes away once the user scrolls the toolbar
- Screens will now move the remote cursor to the center of the active remote display

#Fixed

- Fixed issues with Launch Center Pro and other URL schemes
- Many bug fixes and improvements in the VNC engine
- Many UI and UX improvements
- Some characters on the French, Spanish and Turkish keyboards were not properly mapped
- Fixed issue where Screens would stop looking for local computers
- Copying clipboard content from a PC could fail in some circumstances
- Fixed issue where the cursor could move out of the remote display area when trackpad mode is enabled
- Screenshot for a saved screen could be old version when resuming the app
- Quickly disconnecting and reconnecting could make the app unresponsive
- Screens Connect info could override the wrong saved screen
- SSH Keys popover in Screens settings > Secure Connection > Advanced was too long
- SSK Key button in Screens settings > Secure Connection > Advanced would not come to a solid purple after selecting a key
- Display arrangement in toolbar > Actions > Select Display was cut when mixing Retina displays with non-retina ones
- The Secure Connection switch is now disabled by default when no information has been entered when creating a new screen
- Fixed issue where Screens would stop looking for local computers
- Removed Undo when using keyboard with remote computer

#Improvements

- Screens now clears the clipboard after importing a SSH key
- Improved disconnection animation on both iPhone and iPad
- Revamped secure connections, which should fix bug fixes, crashes and improve performances quite a bit
- Will now show a More Info option to display related help when a connection attempt fails
- Screens will now auto-manage screen settings when it is associated to a Screens ID
- Lots of improvements regarding stability and performance
