Pilot Buddy is a utility designed specifically for pilots.
First, Pilot Buddy is an electronic log book. You can easily enter your starting hours and begin to track your flights and log hours. It provides all the fields you normally write in your log book, including Day/Night Hours, PIC vs Dual, Approaches, Landings, etc. I personally use Pilot Buddy to track all of my flight hours. You can easily record your times when your flight is complete, and then transfer your hours to your written log book when you have time.
Pilot Buddy goes beyond just a log book. With Pilot Buddy, you can plan your upcoming flight, including all the airports you plan to visit, etc. In flight, Pilot Buddy can be used to easily view the frequencies you commonly need, including ATIS, Approach, Tower, etc. The frequencies are displayed in large format to make them easy to read why you are glancing down for the information.
If this isn't enough, Pilot Buddy also provides a "Show Communications" feature that Student Pilots or low hour pilots might find very useful. The Show Communications feature provides you with the typical radio calls you would make when either Departing, En Route, or Arriving at an Airport. The communication scripts are appropriate for the class of airspace you are operating in. For example, if you are flying out of Class C airspace, Pilot Buddy provides you an example communications with Clearance Control, Ground Control, Tower, etc. You can easily review this script prior to the flight to help make you a better, more prepared pilot!
I look forward to your feedback on Pilot Buddy. If you have features you are interested in, please email me your suggestions.
Finally, if you use Pilot Buddy, please, please, please visit iTunes and provide either a rating and/or a review. We developers can use all the positive ratings and reviews we can get!
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy using Pilot Buddy!
