TurismoRoma

TurismoRoma allows users to take advantage of location based information about the city of Rome.

The application is composed by five sections:
HOME
GUIDE
FAVORITES
SEARCH
GET DIRECTIONS

HOME provides points of interest around user's current location, in a specific range configured by user, on a map visualization. From HOME user is able to filter different categories, for instance, Churches, Cultural Institutes, etc. This feature is available only if there is an Internet connection via WIFI or 3G.

GUIDE provides a guide of Rome subdivided in various categories, including Must Sees, Itineraries, Monuments, Squares, Palaces, etc. At click a list of points of interest relative to user's current position is showed to user, each with detailed information such as description, distance from user, address, contact and costs, transport directions, etc.

User can save any POI in FAVORITES for future reference in offline use.

SEARCH allows the user to find any kind of points of interest.

GET DIRECTIONS allows the user to obtain the path to reach any destination inside the city of Rome, using information retrieved from ATAC (Roman public transportation company). Starting address and the destination can be either inserted by the user or using user's current location position. Furthermore, for each bus stop, the waiting time of buses relative to such stop can be also retrieved.

TurismoRoma is a service provided by the Municipality of Rome and developed by CATTID – “Sapienza” University of Rome.
TurismoRoma is part of Wi-Move project, which is co-founded by Italian Central Government, Department of Regional Affairs, within the “Programma Elisa”.
Wi-Move project has been realized also thanks to the collaboration of Zetema and ATAC.
