Lots of apps *claim* to do voice chat, but in reality just record audio 'clips' that behave like voicemails. WalkieTalkie is the only app that does real-time full duplex voice communication, and even conferencing, just like a phone call. WT is also the only app that works with a free Mac/PC client! So you can save money by using it to call your unlucky friends who don't have iPhones too! The audio is clear, and lag-free.

There are no accounts to set up, and no fees. Just type your username, type your buddy's username, and hit call. By using a 'locator' server, connections behind most routers can be easily brokered without opening ports. No internet connection required either, if both devices are on the same Wi-Fi they'll find each other's usernames. Conference calling between 3 or more parties is possible (with the desktop client hosting) as well.

WalkieTalkie works on iPhone/iPod touch (2g, additional microphone required), PC's and Macs.
