iBird uses a unique parametric search engine to help you identify birds quickly. Narrow down possible species by selecting from: location (state), shape, size, habitat, primary color, secondary color, backyard feeder status, family, bill shape, bill length, head pattern, crown color, wing shape and flight pattern. Or search by keyword, Latin name and band code.
When you have more time on your hands, browse through the sumptuous illustrations, professional photographs and comprehensive expert birding facts.
As a standalone iPhone app, iBird Canada does not require an Internet connection for access to the rich media information in its database. This does mean that the application is large, so please be patient when downloading from the iTunes app store.

What's new
New in iBird 2.2
Every app now has a home page. This page shows icons for any other iBird apps you own as well as shortcuts to apps we think you may wish to know more about. If an app has an update you will see icons for higher versions with a $ badge on it.
New Backup and Restore for all apps (found in Settings) so you can save your favorites and notes. The backup is global to all versions.
New Birdipedia link uses much better content. Be sure and check it out.
Fixed a bug with single family species not returning to browse.
Some but not all songs have descriptive text rather than just simple "phonetics". This will be expanded.
Some birds have multiple vocalizations, for example see Black-capped Chickadee, American Robin and Blue Jay.
