BirdsEye North America is a simple but powerful tool for birders:
• Get an instant list of birds reported recently near you, at any of thousands of birding hotspots across the world, or any random point on the map!
• Includes 1,045 species covering all species that are seen in the United States and Canada.
• BAR CHARTS showing seasonal abundance for each bird
• See a list of “needs” - species recently reported nearby that aren't on your life or year list
• Reports of rare and notable birds in your area and across the ABA region
• Automatically sync your life or year lists with eBird for the ABA area, world, country, state or even county!
• Support for bird names in several languages
BirdsEye NA provides essential distribution, behavior and habitat text from Kenn Kaufman to help you find the bird once you get to the right spot. Stunning and detailed photographs from many top birders, bird photographers and guides will help remind you of the field marks you're looking for.

2.1.1 - we were up all night making last minute updates to fix map and login issues.
MAJOR UPGRADE with lots of new features. Please read.
BIRDSEYE REGIONAL PACKAGES
You can now access all the BirdsEye regional and sound packages in a single version of BirdsEye on your phone! If you already own other regional versions, all you need to do is log in to each. That tells our server that you own it. The next time you log in to BirdsEye it will recognize that you own those other regions and make all of those species available through BirdsEye. We think it's pretty cool to have access to all of your birds in one place!
DIRECTIONS TO HOTSPOTS AND BIRDS
A much requested feature, you can now get directions to any location shown on a map in the app, whether it is a hotspot in Browse Map, or a bird sighting. It's about time, right?
DOWNLOAD FOR OFFLINE
We made it easier to download all of the photos and sounds you'll need when you're birding off the grid!
TIP: BROWSE ALL SPECIES
This new menu item gives you quick access to any bird in the world that you own. If you don't own any content for one of the species, we'll show you which packages will expand your coverage. You can search for birds by name or by 4-letter code. Try it! Typing "rtha" is a lot easier and faster than typing "Red-tailed Hawk"!
TIP: BROWSE BIRDS BY CURRENT MONTH
Browse by current month is available to all users and lets you explore all the species that are likely to occur at this time of year, whether or not they have been reported recently nearby in the last few weeks. Also a great way to see what rarities have shown up in the past and what to look out for!
MEMBERS: BROWSE BIRDS SELECT A MONTH
Members (who help pay for upgrades like this!) are getting access to this feature first. Now you can select any month or combination of months to use when looking at a list of birds. Use it for planning a trip to Peru next winter, or your trip to California next week.
Many other tweaks, including speeding up the performance of life lists, and more. More iOS8 fixes.
Our ratings in the App Store reset each time we release an update. Positive reviews directly affect our rankings and our ability to keep improving BirdsEye. Our team consists entirely of volunteer and low-paid bird fanatics. We need and appreciate your support to keep this app live!
