Love RSS Feeds? So do we!!
RSS Feeds are a great way to follow updates on your favorite website. However, some sites set up their feeds to only show a portion of each entry, you know, to get you to click through to their actual website. If you find that as annoying as we do, you have found the right app.
Thanks to lire, you get your favorite RSS feeds as they should've been. You don't need to click through to any website (though, you do still have the option to, if you really wanted). It takes your favorite partial feeds, does it's magic, and converts them in to full feeds, so you don't have to click/tap on those annoying 'Read more' or 'Continue reading' links.
Lire comes bundled with the ability to fetch up to 10 full-text articles per feed, and an option to upgrade to up to 50 full-text articles per feed with a simple one-time in-app purchase.
You can also cache all feeds with full text (or otherwise) for offline reading. Best used when you know you will be out of network coverage, like on a flight or train ride, or just a place that does not get good network coverage.
Included in lire is our unique take on the popular Read Later feature. Using lire, you can convert your favorite article into an E-Book, and save it for reading later in your favorite E-Book app capable of handling the EPUB format (We love, and recommend iBooks). These E-Books (when saved in iBooks), make for a great offline reading experience.
However, lire is not just our special RSS reader.
With the in-app web browser that is now a part of lire, you can browse your favourite sites from directly inside lire. Read them in the built-in article reader, add them to lire's bookmarks, or convert and save them as ebooks for reading later. Similarly, we've also added the ability to search Google and Wikipedia to lire. Search from directly inside lire. Read searched items in the built-in article reader, add them to lire's bookmarks, or convert and save them as ebooks for reading later.
The powerful bookmarking engine in lire allows you to bookmark your favorite articles. Bookmarks are ideal for saving articles with embedded media (i.e. audio, video or podcasts that aren't saved in ebooks). Bookmarks are automatically cached for offline reading (embedded media within the bookmarks is not cached).
