bus@sg

bus@sg is a bus finding application developed for Singapore. The application gets real-time bus arrival information from SBS and SMRT websites, and presents the data to the user in a clean and useable format.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note: bugs@sg includes around 200 SMRT bus stops, since LTA only has real time data for those ~200 stops. The SMRT stops that have real-time data are marked with red icons.
Features:
(1) Nearby stops
bus@sg uses iPhone's core location technology to automatically find the bus stops near to the user's current location. Tapping on a stop will bring up the prediction page which shows when the next bus will arrive. For SMRT bus stops (in red color), bus data for all lines at the selected bus stop will be shown immediately. But for SBS bus stops (in purple color), the user has the option to select only the lines that the user is interested in. This also reduces the cell phone data plan usage.
The user can change nearby radius setting and the maximum number of nearby stops in the Settings tab. The nearby stop are sorted according to the distance from the user's current location.
(2) Add to Favorites
To add a bus stop to your favorite list, go to the prediction page of that bus stop. Above the bus arrival times n the right-hand side, you can see the outline of a star. Simply tap the star and the stop will be added to your favorites.
(3) Auto refresh
When the user stays on the bus arrival prediction page, the arrival time predictions will automatically refresh every 30 seconds.
(4) Routes
bus@sg contains most currently-running SBS and SMRT routes. Using the Routes tab, the user can select a route and see the list of stops along this route. Tapping the location update button on the top right corner will automatically scroll the nearest bus stop to the top.
(5) Search
The user can search for any stop using the stop ID number, stop description, or road name.
(6) Night Flashing Mode
From anywhere inside this app, the user can shake the iPhone or iPod Touch to activate the night flashing mode. (If it does not active, try shake a bit harder. This feature is designed to be a bit hard to activate to avoid accidental activation.) This mode is especially useful in dark night. Hold the device up with screen facing forward so that the bus driver can easily spot you in the darkness.
