Visual Metronome
Visual Metronome is a metronome for the iPhone and iPod Touch that provides audio and visual beat indication. Features include:
- Click synthesis allowing you to customize your clicks to sound the way you want. Visual Metronome is the only metronome in the app store that offers this feature. You can also choose from six percussion samples.
- Accuracy down to a tenth of a bpm. Visual Metronome is the only dedicated metronome app that lets you specify tempos with this degree of precision. Double tap the tempo readout to enter your exact tempo or tap the large beat display in time and let Visual Metronome calculate the BPM for you.
- 1 - 400 bpm. The widest range of tempos of any metronome in the app store.
- Unlimited beats per measure, with accents placeable on any beat. Visual Metronome is the only metronome in the app store that offers this.
- Setlist allowing you to save and recall custom presets containing BPM info, accent placement and all options. Easily switch between presets by swiping the main beat display... a single swipe is all that is required. Presets are also presented in a list for direct selection.
- The audio engine in Visual Metronome has been custom engineered to provide the most accurate timing possible. Other metronomes available in the App Store are off by almost 1/5 a beat after playing for just 3 seconds; Visual Metronome has rock solid timing. See the One More Muse website (linked below) for detailed timing comparisons.
- Accurate timing is maintained while the display is asleep. Allowing the display to sleep greatly increases battery life; there is also an option to always leave the display on for visual use.
- Easily adjustable manual tempo - press your finger on the BPM indicator and then drag up and down for large tempo changes; press the + and - buttons for finer control.
- Four octave pitch pipe for reference pitches
What's new
- Increased maximum bpm to 400; the new range is 1 - 400 bpm. I highly recommend using the built-in click synthesizers with short decay times at high bpm settings, especially if you are subdividing. It will sound much better than using the acoustic drum samples.
- Double tapping the volume control will mute / unmute the audio.
- You can now save over the current preset in the preset editor in addition to creating new presets.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed bug where accents were invisible and inaccessible in the Rhythm tab. NOTE: Upon downloading the update, I noticed there is still a small bug. If you change to a preset with a large number of beats (more than 20) you might have trouble initially scrolling through the accents. Just add a few beats and you will then be able to scroll; you can delete them once the scrolling is restored. I will submit an update tonight (6/15/09) that addresses this.
- The screen now correctly locks / stays unlocked according to the current preset setting.
