Irish Fiddler
Irish Fiddler is designed to enable Mairéad Hickey to coach children one on one as they learn to play Irish tunes on the fiddle. Although Irish Fiddler was initially developed with children in mind, it is an application that anybody with an interest in Irish fiddle playing, violin, céilí or celtic music will enjoy.
At just fifteen years old Mairéad Hickey has won eight all Ireland titles for her fiddle playing and is currently the holder of the National Concert Hall’s Musicians Award 2011. Inspired by the work of organisations such as Comhaltas, Music Generation and bands like U2 who have generously invested in music education programs in Ireland, Mairéad embraced the opportunity to do her part in helping promote traditional Irish music.
Join Mairéad as she helps to develop the next generation of great Irish musicians that will follow in the footsteps of The Corrs, Enya, Sinéad O'Connor, Rory Gallagher, The Cranberries, Clannad, Altan, The Pogues, Van Morrison, The Chieftans, The Dubliners, Thin Lizzy, U2 and many more.
