Gnana Dayini HD
Gnanadayini (Bestower of Knowledge) brings to you 10 simple , sanskrit language, carnatic music songs which your children can repeat easily by listening to and thus discover their liking and talent for singing carnatic music.
Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar and other great carnatic music composers have created simple songs which can be taught to children even before they start learning the Swaravalis like Sarali,Jantai,Kalapramanam,Sthayi and Dhatu varisais which, although a must for a strong foundation, is not so interesting for a child learning music for the first time!.
Dikshitar's 40 songs , all very easy to sing by children were published by Sri M.R Shankaramurthy in the book "The European Airs of Muthuswamy Dikshitar" in various languages. All these songs are set to Raaga Shankarabharanam in the western scale. These were later published as "Gnanadayini" by Smt Saroja Natarajan of "Shankara Gana Nilaya" at Bangalore, India.
Smt Saroja Natarajan is the niece and student of Sri M.R Shankaramurthy. She started "Shankara Gana Nilaya" where she has trained scores of children using the method of first initiating them to the above songs and then graduating them to higher levels of carnatic music.Her teaching methods were praised by the famed carnatic music critic Subbudu.
