FlickTunes

FlickTunes lets you keep your eyes on the road & control your music by touch! It provides you with a bold, clean, yet uncluttered, interface combined with intuitive touch and gesture-based controls. FlickTunes is simply the safest and most effective way to control your music on the go. You won't ever need to take your eyes off the road again.

Perfect for use in the car, on the treadmill, at the gym or while jogging. Use it anywhere you can't afford to spend time futzing with your music player!

KEY FEATURES:

← Flick Left: Advance to the next song.
→ Flick Right: Go back to the previous song.
⇅ Swipe Up or Down: Toggle between play & pause.
⇇ Flick Left with Two Fingers: Skip forward 30 seconds.
⇉ Flick Right with Two Fingers: Skip back 30 seconds.
⇈ Swipe Up with Two Fingers: Increase volume.
⇊ Swipe Down with Two Fingers: Decrease volume.

SETTINGS:

♫ Auto-Lock > Allow While Playing: Set whether the device allowed to auto-lock while music is playing.
♫ Auto-Lock > Allow While Paused: Set whether the device is allowed to auto-lock while music is paused.
♫ Display > Header Text Resizing: Control how much the header text will shrink to fit if the song text is too big.
♫ Display > Allow Rotation: Set whether the device is allowed to rotate the view to landscape.
♫ Display > Pick Multiple Songs: Choose which mode the media picker uses - single song or multiple songs.
♫ Controls > Reverse Flicks: Reverses the direction of the next/previous flicks and the 30 second skip flicks.
♫ Controls > Song Jump Back: Set whether the previous flick jumps back to the start of the song (if more than 5 sec. in), or always takes you to the previous song regardless.
♫ Controls > Tap to Play/Pause: Set whether a tap should toggle play/pause mode.
♫ Controls > Swipe to Play/Pause: Set whether a vertical swipe should toggle play/pause mode.
♫ Controls > Two Finger Controls: Set whether two finger controls are allowed or ignored.
♫ Controls > Volume Control Sensitivity: Control how much the volume changes in response to the two finger volume gesture.

Please note that a screen dimming option to save battery power is high on our wishlist too, but there are no facilities to do this in Apple's developer kit. Any other apps that do this are using undocumented methods, which is prohibited by the Apple developer agreement. I'm not sure how they get away with it. We will add this feature just as soon as it's officially supported.

BUG FIXES:

♫ Persistent crashing plaguing some users is now fixed.
♫ Two finger flicks were unpredictable if you changed directions mid-flick. These are now handled better.
♫ Some quirkiness surrounding the two finger volume controls are now resolved.

♫ Visual appearance is now improved! We've got a new font, new header layout, new toolbar and new button designs. Additionally the view rotation animation is smoother.
♫ App settings are reorganized for clarity and to make room for future enhancements.
♫ Some settings were renamed to better express what they do.

KNOWN ISSUES:

♫ The App Store reports this version as v1.2.1 but it is really v1.3.0.
♫ If you intend to use FlickTunes with a car head-unit that locks out iPod controls ("accessory attached"), it will not work as of OS 3.1. The fact that it worked under OS 3.0 was an Apple "bug" which they have now remedied.
♫ The new Genius Mixes in iTunes 9 are not available through Apple's developer kit and are, therefore, unavailable in the media picker. You must start playback of a Genius Mix in the iPod app then switch to FlickTunes.
