4D Synth
4D Synth is a musical instrument designed, from the ground up, to take advantage of the unique user interface of the iPhone and iPod touch. It allows the user to generate musical sounds that vary according to screen position and the tilt of the device.
The long dimension of the screen corresponds to the pitch of the note, and the short dimension of the screen corresponds to the volume (loudness) of the note. When FM synthesis and vibrato are activated in the settings, the tilt of the device controls the modulation and vibrato levels.
A number of options are provided in the settings, including waveform type, delay, ten scale types, and starting notes across a five octave range.
