BBC Music Magazine presents 100 Jazz Legends – your guide to the greatest names in jazz.
This fantastic, stylish interactive app allows you to learn about the biggest jazz heroes, listen to fantastic jazz recordings and browse stunning iconic photography.

With our special iTunes widget, you can sample and buy each artist’s ‘Essential cuts’. Simply tap the album covers and enjoy excerpts from more than 275 classic recordings, including Coltrane’s ‘A Love Supreme’, Miles Davis’s ‘Kind of Blue’ and Keith Jarrett’s ‘Köln Concert’.

Each entry is expertly written by Geoffrey Smith, the presenter of BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Record Requests. Some of the legendary artists include:
