Shani Chalisa

Lord Shani the son of Surya (Sun god) and Chhaya ( Goddess Shadow) is one of the "Navagraha" (nine celestial gods) in Hindu mythology. Lord Shani occupies the seventh place among these nine planets which govern our lives. Shani is embodied in the planet Saturn. Shani is the Lord of Saturday. Shani traditionally is depicted in Hindu mythology as extremely dark wearing black clothes and mounted on a vulture or a raven.
Shani Dev is one of the most popular deities that the Hindus pray to ward off evil and remove obstacles.
