Professor William Barclay was distinguished a scholar, an exceptionally gifted preacher and a religious broadcaster.
He wrote regularly for the British Weekly for over 20 years. He was professor of Divinity at Glasgow University, a visiting professor at University of Strathclyde and a member of the advisory committee for the New English Bible. His extremely popular Bible Study Notes have achieved worldwide sale.
Professor Barclay died in January 1978.
The second volume contains selection of prayers from two of Prof. Barclay's prayer books: THE PLAIN MAN'S BOOK OF PRAYERS and MORE PRAYES FOR THE PLAIN MAN.
The first two volumes viz. Prayers for the Plain Man and More Prayers for thePlain Man have proved to be very popular. this third volume is prepared on the insistent demand from our people. My sincere thanks to the U.K. Publishers (William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd., Glasgow) fort their generous permission.
