You need a drink in NYC... STAT! So let the The L Magazine's Cocktail Compass find the happiest happy hours near you. Tap the app and in mere moments you'll have the nearest happy hour at your fingertips, along with its location, distance, and how long you'll have before happy hour is over.
Need more info? Tap the bar name to see a map of the location, call the bar, or share its info with your friends.
You can also use Cocktail Compass to search for bars in your area, or in any neighborhood in town. Check to see if it has Wi-Fi or patios (or both!). If you know the name of a bar--or almost remember it--browse the list of bars to find it in a snap.
Love a place you found with Cocktail Compass? Make it a favorite and find it again next time--even if your memory's a bit blurry on how you ended up there in the first place. Having too much fun? At the end of the night, hit the Cabs icon, and call a cab to take you home.

What's new
We've added new features for users of the iPhone OS 3.0! If you have the latest OS version on your iPhone or iPod touch, you get access to a bunch of new stuff:
- Bar maps now open inside the app. If you need detailed directions to the bar, tap the 'Launch Maps App' button from the in-app map and take it from there.
- Sharing bar info via email now opens inside the app.
- The Call a Cab tab estimates your current location via GPS and displays your street address at the bottom of the screen (OS version 3.0 or higher only); NOTE: this is an ESTIMATED location and may be a bit off, depending on the capabilities of your device and the whims of the network.
- Continuously updates your location throughout your session. Hit the 'refresh' button (upper left) on the Happy Hours tab to see which happy hours are now closest, if you're using Cocktail Compass while on the subway, in a cab, or on an bike (hey, please don't use this app while driving, unless you're a passenger).
- Improved scrolling performance on Happy Hours tab.
- Fixed bug in New York City which caused some early-morning Happy Hours to appear to last all day.
- Updated app icon.
- Now available in these markets: New York City, Seattle, Portland, and Boise. More coming soon!
