The author, Dr. Arun Kumar Sethi, is a multi-faceted personality. He graduated as an outstanding medical graduate from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and worked as a research scientist at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi For about seven years. He has been teaching the basic functions of the human body at Lady Hardinge and Maulana Azad Medical colleges for many years. He has a flair for writing and is a regular contributor to many renowned national and international medical journals. He is a clinician-doctor-teacher and a medical scientist.
