Wheels of Glory
Wheels of Glory is based on wheelchair basketball and raises players’ awareness of the physical and psychological strength required by Paralympians, as well as some of the barriers that disabled athletes must overcome in order to compete at a world-class level.
Collect the coloured gems to keep up your levels of Excellence, Determination and Inspiration. Grab the medals when they appear. Avoid the basketballs and opponents.
This game was developed by Tom Scutt and Creative and Media Diploma students at Chalfonts Community College. It was inspired by the Paralympics and the story of Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Many thanks to Creative Junction, Wheelpower and Stoke Mandeville Stadium for their support.
Wheels of Glory is part of Accentuate, a transformational programme of fifteen projects inspired by the Paralympic Movement, which seeks to change perceptions and offer opportunities to showcase the talents of deaf and disabled people. Accentuate has been funded by Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting impact from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK, and the Regional Cultural Agencies. Screen South is the home of Accentuate.
