Sumali, the king of Rakshasa clan instigated his sister Kaikasi to appease sage Vrishva and marry him. Kaikasi succeeded and an intelligent son with ten heads was born. They named him Dashanan. Dashanan appeased Lord Brahma to acquire invincibility against gods and conquered all the three Lokas. He defeated powerful warriors like Indra, Kuber and Yama. He lifted Mount Kailash to humiliate Lord Shiva. Ravana misbehaved with Vedavati who was meditating to have Lord Vishnu as her husband. Vedavati committed suicide and prophesized that she would be the cause of Ravana's destruction. In her next life, she was born as Sita. Ravana abducted Sita which became the prime cause of his death.
