This collaboration between the Chicago History Museum and Northwestern University offers an exceptionally deep and rich understanding of one of the truly legendary events in American history. This app combines a chronology of the fire and an analysis of the several ways in which it has entered historical memory. Among several other interactive features, viewers can “tour” the fire in the streets of Chicago today. All images can be zoomed to reveal extraordinary detail.
