Edo is the old name of Tokyo.
With this app, you can enjoy spectacular 12-meter-long painting “Kidai shōran (Splendid view of prosperous age)”. It represents bustling street of Nihombashi area, the central district of Edo in early 19th century. At that time, Edo was the most populated city in the world.
Original painting was found anonymous in Berlin, Germany at the end of the 20th century. Though its background is still in mystery, the painting is filled with cheerful and peaceful atmosphere. Zoom in, and you would love to see 89 shops and 1671 charming people on the street in very detailed expressions.
