The Second Jungle Book (1895) is a collection of stories written by Rudyard Kipling, following the same themes and subjects of the previous First Jungle Book.
The tales in boths Jungle Books are fables, using animals in an anthropomorphic manner to give moral lessons. Kipling put in them nearly everything he knew or "heard or dreamed about the Indian jungle."
While the First Jungle Book contained only three stories about Mowgly, the man-cub that was raised by a pack of wolves in the Indian jungle, and tutored by the black panther Bagheera and the bear Balloo, this second book adds five new stories of Mowgly and his adventures in the jungle, as well as three other stories about the magical Indian jungle.
