Platero y Yo (Spanish)

Jimenez was a prolific Spanish writer and poet, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1956. He advocated the French concept of “pure poetry”. He wrote many erotic poems about lust and sex, which at the time were an alien concept to Spanish lyric poetry. Platero y Yo was published in 1914, and celebrated his home region, as a prose poem about a writer and his donkey called Platero y Yo.
