LEMAY by Barrett Tillman (unabridged) is presented by Blackstone Audio and comes with what is perhaps the best audiobook app available (see FEATURES, below).
“Barrett Tillman, one of America's top history writers, gives us an authentic feel for LeMay...." (Robert F. Dorr, author of “Air Combat”)
Packed with breathtaking battles in the air and tactics on the ground, this book in the Great Generals Series features the controversial command and strategies of World War II Air Force Chief of Staff Curtis LeMay, a terrifying, complex, and brilliant general.
Self-contained, this audiobook app is perfect for your commute, on a trip, or while relaxing. Based on a library-quality recording, this app was built especially for your iPhone and iPod Touch. No unreadable text, no endless scrolling on a tiny screen. The audio is of higher-than-normal quality, making for a great listening experience that will not tire your ears or grate on your nerves.
NOTICE: This app includes the exact same 5-star recording offered elsewhere at much higher prices. It was professionally recorded by Blackstone Audio’s Earphones®-winning narrator, Tom Weiner. You are not buying yet another amateur or volunteer narration. No clicks, background noises, throat clearing, mispronunciations, tinny voices or monotones will be found here.
"Thorough, balanced, and insightful, Barrett Tillman's masterful biography of Curtis LeMay is...long-overdue….” (Dr. Richard P. Hallion, aviation historian and author)

RATING: Suitable for adults who like military biographies, or who enjoy reading the “Great Generals Series.”
Packed with breathtaking air battles and ground tactics, this new addition to the “Great Generals Series” features the controversial command and strategies of the former Air Force Chief of Staff.
Curtis LeMay was a terrifying, complex, and brilliant general. In World War II, he ordered the firebombing of Tokyo and was in charge when atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. He was responsible for tens of thousands of civilian deaths, a fact he liked to celebrate by smoking Cuban cigars. But LeMay was also the man who single-handedly transformed the American Air Force from poorly trained and badly equipped pilots into one of the fiercest weapons of the war. Over the last decades, most U.S. military missions were carried out entirely through use of the Air Force. This is LeMay’s legacy.
