Don Quijote 2 (Spanish)

This novel was published in two volumes a decade apart by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, as his magnum opus. Fully titled “The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha”, Cervantes uses the theme of the idealistic, insane knight and the devoted, down to earth squire to portray many complex themes through a plethora of unforgettable incidents, tragic and comic. It is structured in episodic form and written in the picaresco style of the late 16th century. Don Quixite is considered the preeminent literary work to emerge from the Spanish Golden Age and the entire Spanish literary canon. Considered by many the first modern novel, its thematic source has inspired art and music works by artists such as Picasso and Strauss.
