《四十二章經》

The Sutra of Forty-two Chapters (佛說四十二章經) is the earliest surviving Buddhist sutra translated into Chinese. Because of its early date, it is regarded as "the First Sutra" and has a very significant status. This book is in Traditional Chinese written vertically.

《佛說四十二章經》，簡稱《四十二章經》，佛教著作，東漢迦葉摩騰、竺法蘭漢譯，是古代中國譯出的第一部佛教經典。內容是把佛所說的某一段話稱為一章，共選了四十二段話所編集而成。傳統的漢文通常為豎排，亦即由上至下書寫，一行寫完再向左方發展，較為美觀大方。本書為繁體中文直排。
