The New Yorker Magazine Arrives for the iPhone

by Marianne Schultz

The New Yorker magazine, the weekly publication that debuted in 1925, is now available on the iPhone. The New Yorker Magazine app, which was released exclusively for the iPad in September 2010, received an update earlier this week adding compatibility with the iPhone.

As on the iPad, iPhone users will have access to all content offered in the printed version plus additional audio and video content.

As with the release of the iPad app in 2010, The New Yorker has created a quirky video to announce the update to the app and highlight its features:

This week’s issue of the magazine is free to celebrate the release, which is a great way to test it out to see if you’d like to subscribe. If you do choose to subscribe, a one-year subscription costs $59.99 or you can just buy individual issues at $5.99 a pop. If you already subscribe to the paper version of the New Yorker, you don’t need to pay again to access content on the iPad or iPhone.
