Newsweek Magazine Comes to iPad
Following closely on the heels of the release of the Wired Magazine app last week, Newsweek appeared in the App Store over the holiday weekend with an iPad-specific app as well.
Unlike the Wired Magazine app that costs $4.99, Newsweek for the iPad is free and new issues can be purchased within the app for $2.99, a savings of almost $3.00 over the newsstand price for an individual issue. Additionally, digital issues will become available through the app before print issues can be purchased in stores.
Newsweek for the iPad doesn’t offer any of the interactive bells and whistles that the Wired app does, though it works quite well to make navigating and reading the magazine’s content easy.
A special issue focused on President Obama is available for download for free within the app so you can take it for a test run and several issues are also already available for purchase.
