iBooks App Gets Minor Update

Apple released an update to its iPad-only iBooks app this morning, bringing the version number to 1.01. The update appears to be minor, with only two brief changes listed:

  • Changes how new iBooks users are provided their complimentary copy of Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne.
  • Addresses issues to improve performance.

While iPad users outside of the U.S. can’t purchase any books yet aside from free Gutenberg Project content, iBookstores around the world are already starting to go live in preparation for the device’s release in 9 more countries on May 28. On that day, the international iBookstores are expected to be live with paid content for all countries where the iPad will be available.
